Answer the question first

Each guide opens with a short answer, then walks through the choices. We aim for a sixth-grade reading level, use common words, and explain new terms as they come up.

Homeowner discussions help us find the questions people ask. A social media post can point us toward a problem to research; it cannot prove a price, a loan term, or a safety claim.

Check facts and keep the sources

Our research records keep the sources and check dates behind prices, loan terms, and program details. We use government guidance, original offer documents, maker instructions, and industry data with clear limits. The guides explain the findings in our own words.

We label examples and explain what a price range includes. We do not invent rates, reader stories, ratings, or professional credentials.

How the guides are made

Articles use the shared byline “Editorial team.” We use AI tools to help with research, drafting, fact checks, and editing. This credit is not a claim that a named expert wrote or reviewed an article.

The guides have not had a review by a licensed financial adviser or an HVAC professional. They offer general information, not a review of your finances or your home’s equipment.

Keep the guidance current

We check sources when we prepare or revise a guide. Each article shows an update date. Prices, loan offers, and local rules can change, so check the current written terms before you agree to a job or a loan.

When we find a factual error, we correct it and update the date. A change that could affect a reader’s choice also gets a note explaining what changed.
